Terms of Service

Provider: Intentional Design LLC. Contact: support@ficus.sh. Business address: 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.

These Terms govern your use of the Tau website, Tau Cloud, and related hosted services and support. Additional terms may apply to a particular plan or feature when disclosed before you use it. The Tau software and third-party components may also be provided under separate software licenses; these Terms do not reduce rights granted under those licenses.

Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required by applicable law. If you have not reached the age of legal adulthood where you live, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf and be responsible for your use. Paid subscriptions must be purchased by an adult or someone authorized to act for an organization. Anyone acting for an organization must have authority to bind it to these Terms.

Provide accurate account and billing information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account and for assigning appropriate access to your organization's users, agents, and integrations.

If your organization controls your Tau instance, its administrator may manage your access and the work stored there. Notify us promptly if you believe your Tau Cloud account has been compromised.

The service and agent actions

Tau coordinates AI agents and connected tools. Depending on the instructions, permissions, workflow, and integrations you configure, agents may read or change files, run code, access external services, send messages, publish content, or take other actions on your behalf.

You authorize the service to process your instructions and content and use your configured integrations for that purpose. Configure permissions, approval steps, spending limits, and access carefully. A review step exists only where the applicable workflow or policy requires it; do not assume that every agent action requires human approval.

AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, insecure, or unsuitable for your intended use. Review important outputs and changes before relying on them. Do not use Tau as a substitute for qualified professional judgment or safeguards required for a high-risk activity.

Your content

You retain your rights in the content you provide. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, transmit, display, and back up that content to provide and secure the service and carry out your instructions.

We do not train or fine-tune AI models on your content, sell it, use it for advertising, or copy private customer examples into shared prompts or evaluation datasets. Our Privacy Policy describes the limited website analytics and operational and billing measurements used to run the service.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit content and connect third-party resources. You are responsible for your decisions to share or publish content and for complying with applicable licenses and confidentiality obligations.

We do not claim ownership of your inputs. Rights in generated outputs may depend on applicable law, third-party content, and the terms of the model or service used. We do not guarantee that outputs are unique or free from third-party rights.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to violate the law or others' rights, gain unauthorized access, steal credentials or confidential information, distribute malware, carry out fraud or harassment, exploit children, send unlawful spam, or interfere with the service's security or availability. Do not bypass access controls, billing controls, or usage limits. Security testing requires authorization from the owner of the system being tested.

We may investigate credible abuse reports and restrict access where necessary to protect the service, users, or others. Where practical and legally permitted, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Third-party services and self-hosting

AI providers, code hosts, payment services, and other integrations may have their own terms, charges, availability limits, and data practices. You are responsible for maintaining the accounts and permissions your configuration requires. We cannot guarantee the availability or behavior of independent providers.

When you self-host Tau, you are responsible for operating and securing your server, managing users and integrations, maintaining backups, and complying with applicable obligations. Downloading the mobile app does not include a hosted Tau instance. The app connects to a server to which you have access.

Fees, renewal, and cancellation

Prices, billing frequency, included resources, and any usage-based charges are described in your selected plan and checkout. Applicable taxes may be added. Charges from providers you connect may be billed separately by those providers.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the billing frequency disclosed at checkout unless canceled before renewal. You can cancel at any time through the billing controls; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and access continues through that period unless suspended or terminated for a separate reason permitted by these Terms. You remain responsible for usage charges already incurred. We will email account holders at least 30 days before a price increase applies to a renewal. We do not offer free Cloud trials; you can evaluate Tau by self-hosting.

Cloud hosting fees are nonrefundable except for incorrect or duplicate charges, failed provisioning where the paid instance cannot be activated, or refunds required by law. There is no introductory refund period or routine prorated refund for unused time. You can evaluate Tau by self-hosting before purchasing Cloud hosting. Request a refund by contacting support@ficus.sh. Additional refunds or credits for service failures are discretionary; this does not limit statutory remedies. Charges for usage already consumed remain payable unless incorrect or otherwise refundable by law.

You can manage your Cloud subscription through its billing controls or contact support for help. Uninstalling the app or disconnecting a server does not cancel a subscription. Any refund or cancellation rights required by law continue to apply.

Suspension, termination, and data

You may stop using the service and cancel applicable subscriptions. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, nonpayment, unlawful use, or security risks, subject to applicable law and any required notice. Where a problem can reasonably be corrected without risking the service or others, we will seek to give you an opportunity to correct it.

Cancellation, suspension, and deletion are different actions. Review the applicable data-retention and export information before ending an instance, and retain copies of data you need.

Ordinary cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Instance destruction is scheduled after a 14-day grace period following subscription end, with backups scheduled for removal 30 days after termination. A separate account-deletion request cancels subscriptions and starts permanent deletion without these recovery windows. Export anything you need before requesting deletion; this includes data shared with other users in your instances.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how information is handled. Organizations can request a Tau Cloud data-processing agreement by contacting support@ficus.sh. We review the intended processing and complete the applicable schedules and transfer documents with you before both parties sign. Requesting an agreement or accepting these Terms does not itself execute that agreement. Any required agreement and safeguards must be in place before the affected processing begins.

Availability, warranties, and liability

We aim to provide a useful and reliable service, but availability can be affected by maintenance, network conditions, third-party providers, and technical failures. Unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise, we do not promise uninterrupted service, error-free outputs, or any particular result.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. This does not exclude warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the affected service is limited to the greater of US $100 or the fees you paid us for that service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, or liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and does not reduce mandatory consumer rights or remedies.

App Store distribution

The iOS app is distributed through Apple's App Store and is also subject to the applicable App Store terms and software license. Apple is not the provider of Tau Cloud or responsible for operating your Tau server. The app uses Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These Terms govern the Cloud service; applicable open-source licenses continue to govern the software distributed under them.

Changes and disputes

We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will identify the effective date and provide notice of material changes as required by law. Where a change requires agreement, we will obtain that agreement before applying it.

Contact us first at the address above to discuss a concern. These Terms are governed by Wyoming law, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and applicable United States federal law. This choice does not deprive consumers of protections or rights to bring claims in local courts that cannot be waived under applicable law.

If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Any waiver must be specific and does not waive future enforcement.
